About RAYNAUD
Located in Limoges, France, the capital of porcelain production, Raynaud has deep roots in the region's traditions and is committed to excellence in craftsmanship. The company's porcelain is informed by a fine sense of detail, a sophisticated aesthetic, and a understanding of the needs of first-class catering, resulting in a truly passionate art of living.
In addition to collaborating with famous artists such as Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dali, Raynaud has also worked with iconic interior designer Alberto Pinto, florist Christian Tortu, and Michelin-starred chefs like Thomas Keller. The company's artistic direction has also been influenced by Mariela Schwarz Montiel, the German-Paraguayan wife of Bertrand Raynaud and a successful shoe designer in her own right. Mariela has designed several popular china collections for Raynaud, including the best-selling Trésor dinner collection.
Limoges porcelain is famous for its exceptional purity and whiteness, thanks to the use of high-quality china clay from the region. The porcelain is traditionally hard and consists of 50% china clay, fired at over 1400°C to create a delicate, white, translucent, and resilient material. The manufacture of Raynaud porcelain involves a complex process that includes hand carving prototypes, creating plaster moulds, and glazing the biscuit porcelain with minerals before firing it again at high temperatures.
From the interplay of form and colour to the attention to detail in every piece, Raynaud's Limoges porcelain dinnerware truly captures the art of living and is sure to captivate connoisseurs and star chefs alike.
