About SIEGER BY FURSTENBERG

FÜRSTENBERG, a name synonymous with exclusive craftsmanship and unique porcelain manufacturing, began its journey in 1747. Through the lens of time, the brand's history has been shaped by an esteemed lineage of designers, modelers and porcelain painters. This rich heritage originated with the initiative of Duke Carl I of Brunswick-Wolfenbuettel.

In Fürstenberg, the art of porcelain creation has always been a testament to the era it belongs to. Each piece produced embodies the spirit, lifestyle, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and the technical possibilities of its time. From comprehensive tableware series and thoughtful gift items to unique designer pieces, FÜRSTENBERG's porcelain boasts all the qualities to become a classic treasured for generations.

A Mark of Excellence: The Birth of the Blue "F"

On 11 January 1747, the visionary Duke Charles I ordained the establishment of the porcelain manufactory in Fürstenberg, making it the second such establishment in the German-speaking world to still be producing porcelain today. The Duke's emblematic blue “F”, ordained in 1753, remains the proud trademark of the manufactory, distinguishing every piece of porcelain created under its name.

FÜRSTENBERG has always had an eye for creating pieces that resonate with their times. The FÜRSTENBERG vases, the brand's real bestsellers in the second half of the 18th century, stand as a testament to this. Similarly, the Duke Ferdinand service range, characterized by its basic cylindrical-oval shape and angular handles, became a symbol of the neoclassical era. The Empire design, inspired by Parisian fine arts and created by Louis Victor Gerverot in 1805, also reflects the classic antique designs that defined the Empire style.

As society and tastes evolved, so did FÜRSTENBERG's offerings. The Ariana series marked the brand's first step towards uniformity in design across tableware, coffee and tea sets. The 1930s witnessed the porcelain manufactory leading a radical shift in design towards objective functionality, making it one of the few bespoke production companies to do so.

Modern Partnerships and Timeless Elegance

The collaboration with Sieger design in 2005 marked a significant milestone in FÜRSTENBERG's journey. This partnership gave birth to the My China! form, celebrated for its exceptionally thin bisque and a multitude of application and combination options.

The partnership between FÜRSTENBERG and Sieger design, initiated in 2005, has been a cornerstone of innovation and elegance. Out of this collaborative journey, the lifestyle brand SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG was conceived, birthing the iconic MY CHINA! collection. Renowned for its remarkably thin bisque and versatility in application and combination, this series stands as a testament to the perfect blend of design prowess and exceptional craftsmanship.

SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG represents a harmonious fusion of talents. Michael Sieger, the design maestro, and Christian Sieger, the managerial mind behind the SIEGER brand, bring their unique knowledge and styles to the table, beautifully synergized with FÜRSTENBERG's porcelain manufacturing expertise.

Michael Sieger encapsulates their design philosophy, stating, "We believe that today's people are in search of everyday luxury, without wanting to compromise on a high level of functionality." Echoing this sentiment, Christian Sieger adds, "Our porcelain invites you to linger, be it at home with families or in exclusive hotels – wherever people want to enjoy the good life." Their shared vision has not only elevated the brand but also offered a unique porcelain experience that speaks to contemporary desires and aesthetics.

FÜRSTENBERG's legacy has been recognized with several accolades, including the prestigious title of "Brand of the Century". Their latest collaboration with Studio Besau-Marguerre resulted in the innovative Plisago side table, underlining that FÜRSTENBERG’s approach to porcelain extends beyond just sophisticated dining.

In 2022, FÜRSTENBERG marked its 275th anniversary, celebrating a rich history of creating internationally recognized porcelain art “Made in Germany”. In its milestone year, the manufactory introduced new porcelain series such as the contemporary and highly functional Datum collection, created in a collaborative effort with Foster + Partners. The FÜRSTENBERG legacy thus continues, merging tradition with innovation and shaping the future of porcelain art.
