Designed in 1927 René Lalique's Bacchantes vases caused a sensation with their portrayal of neoclassical nude priestesses. Artistic presentation shows female forms dancing around the crystal that is symbolizing elegance and sensuality. Each vase is meticulously polished by hand to create a play of light, enhancing transparency in some satin-finished areas. Lalique is using various secret techniques to achieve different colors and the result is slight variations in shades that are characteristic of the creation process.
