Puiforcat
From 1820, tradition and innovation mixed together to create the history of the art of living through silversmithing at the House of Puiforcat. This legacy grew under the special care of a unique family dynasty. Now, two hundred years later, Puiforcat still celebrates sterling silver with a creative process that needs rare knowledge and skills. Today, Puiforcat offers special silver cutlery and accessories to customers who really appreciate them.

About PUIFORCAT
From the fancy silver cutlery for kings to the new wave of Art Deco style.
In 1922, a big change in design took over the old Louis-quinze and Régence styles that Puiforcat used to make. This big shift was led by the founder's grandson, Jean Emile Puiforcat. Taking inspiration from the new Art Deco style in architecture, he simplified the once loved Baroque decorations to very little or none at all. Instead, he liked smooth surfaces, simple shapes, and nice proportions. The innovative design style of Jean Emile Puiforcat became a very important part of what makes Puiforcat special. Famous tableware sets like the Cannes cutlery from 1928 are still made today by Orfèvrerie Puiforcat using the best quality silver.
Jean Emile Puiforcat is seen as one of the top silversmiths from the Art Deco time. Some of his creations are now in the Louvre, known as big works of art. He strongly believed in the "rebirth of craftsmanship" and used sculptural and abstract shapes, leaving a big mark on the silver art of the 20th century. He always said, "our silversmiths know that a finished piece shouldn't have any marks from the hammer." Even now, the silversmiths work with the utmost attention to detail.
Puiforcat's silversmiths blend their rich history from the classical and art deco times while also creating tomorrow's classics. The Séléné collection, named for the Greek goddess of the moon with curves and rounded perfection, gently reflective surfaces, and pure convex silhouettes like inverted celestial domes, echo the magnetic beauty of our natural satellite.
Although Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye has traditionally turned her skills to ceramics, the sterling silver objects of her collection remain loyal to the round, hemispheric, moon-like silhouettes she has been fashioning for some six decades: their fresh curves emerged from a protracted process of research, a long accumulation of technical and cultural wisdom.
Puiforcat makes cutlery in stainless steel, silver-plated, and sterling silver. The design and material of each set are closely linked, with each collection being unique to highlight the best of its material. Besides cutlery, Puiforcat also offers other items for a fancy tableware. Silverplated rosewood bowls, precious silver trays, Limoges porcelain dishes with platinum, solid sterling silver champagne coolers, and Puiforcat silver vases and candlesticks.
