Lobmeyr, Alpha Colours, Water tumbler

Hans Harald Rath designed the Alpha set in 1952. Compact and balanced glasses fit beautifully in the hand. Inspired by a Baroque cup influenced by Islamic art, these 1950s-style glasses are fully stackable. Made from fine muslin glass and mouth-blown into wooden forms, they have an elegant look. In 1964, the series won the German National Design Prize "Gute Form." Today, they are available in six light colors, garnet red and black.
