Soleil Levant
The Soleil Levant china from Bernardaud takes a new look at the big style of French porcelain from the early 1800s. It especially shows the impact of the famous porcelain artist Pierre-Louis Dagoty. It mixes the beauty of shape, bright colors, and the rich way of putting gold on things. The special pattern of flowering papyrus that spreads around the plate's edge is a tribute to the strong love for designs, furniture, and art inspired by Egypt. This interest started in the 1700s and got even stronger after Napoleon's military actions in the 1800s.
